The reefs have a wide abundance of soft and hard corals and many colored tropical fish. A safe and inviting experience you just can't miss. The reefs average only 6-12 ft. each, so everyone in your family will be able to enjoy this wonderful experience !Picture yourself floating at the surface with a myriad of sea life just below you ! Visit Alligator Reef

Alligator Reef

Alligator Reef Is One Of Florida Keys Best Snorkeling & Dive Sites. This coral reef is also home to what is considered the USS Alligator which in fact it is not. The Navy conducted a study and determined that the remains of this sunken ship is another yet to be determined vessel. There are however, several other unidentified wrecks buried in the sandy bottom around this Florida Keys coral reef, and perhaps one of those will bear this name.

This healthy coral reef is great for Florida Keys snorkeling and Key Largo diving. It provides wreck divers with a look back into time as they explore the sunken ship's ballast piles and wood remnants. It also gives Key Largo divers and snorkelers an opportunity to mingle with a broad spectrum of marine life. On any given day you can expect to see numerous tropical fish including angelfish, damselfish, blue tang, and parrotfish. There's also the ever present snapper, grunt, spiny lobster, and numerous stony and gorgonian coral. With so much color around you, this is the perfect place to capture amazing underwater photography.

Beautiful Beaches of Cannon Beach

Cannon Beach

Located beside the fishing pier in Largo Sound is Cannon Beach, famous for its 17th century cannon mounted right on the sand, as well as remnants from a Spanish shipwreck planted in the water. Like Far Beach, Cannon Beach is man-made, but with its abundance of sealife and tropical fish, including tarpon and barracuda, the site is used frequently for snorkeling. No more than 100 feet from shore snorkelers can view the barnacle-encrusted ship’s cannons and an ancient iron anchor, among other artifacts.

  • Fishing (in designated locations within the park)
  • Snorkeling
